60 job applications sent out. ~40 rejections so far. The rest: status unknown all.
My dissertation chair warned me the search would be difficult. It's tough not to take all the rejection a bit personal and feel hopeless.
But then I remember I'm lucky to have the job(s) I already have. I work at a good college, meet awesome students/people all the time, paid to do what I love to do (read, learn, and teach).
Still, I got my PhD with the hope for career advancement. ~20 applications still out. About 3 or 4 months until they're all moot. 1 career to cultivate. I'll record the journey here.
